Automating Jira Backlog Creation with Agilien
Agilien is an innovative AI-powered assistant designed to simplify one of the most time‑consuming tasks in project management: building a comprehensive Jira backlog. Prerequisite
We first need to create blank space in Jira.
- Visit your Jira site.
- Press + icon next to Spaces on the left menu.
- Select Software development on the template list, and choose Scrum template.
- Press Use template button.
- Choose either Team-managed space or Company-managed space.
- Specify the name of the space and press Next to proceed.
- Invite members to join the space if needed, or press Skip button to skip the step.
- Optionally you can connect the space with Confluence. Press Continue to proceed.
Now the Jira space is ready and we can we can proceed to generate backlog with AI.
Generate Project Plan
- Switch back to Visual Paradigm Online and login to your workspace.
- Press AI Tools button.
- Locate the Agilien: AI-Powered Jira Backlog planner. Press Start Now button to proceed.
- Enter the Project Domain, as well as System Context & Goals.
- Specify the Project Start Date as well as Project Duration.
- Press the Generate Project Plan button to let the AI engine generate the project plan.
- The project plan are being generated in Epic, User Story and Sub-task structure. We can click on it to see the details.
- Press the View Gantt Chart button will show the full project plan in a Gantt Chart.
Generate UML Diagram according to Project Plan
- Select the project plan item then choose Generate under Diagram Workbench.
- Choose the Diagram Type and press Generate Diagram button to let the AI engine generate diagram according to the project plan item.
- Review the generated diagram, and press the Attach button to attach it to the project plan item if needed.
- Repeat the steps above to generate diagrams for your selected project plan items.
Sync Project Plan to Jira
- Press the Sync with Jira button at the top right.
- Press Authenticate with Jira button in the Sync with Jira dialog.
- You will be prompted to login to your Jira account in case your browser not yet logged in.
- Accept the authorization in the popup dialog,
- Select the Jira Space created in the previous step and press Start Sync button to proceed.
- The synchronization will automatically starts. Press Finish button to close the dialog when finish.
- Switch to Jira and reload the space if needed.
- All the project plan items are now being generated into your Jira space.
