Kick Start on Using AI Features in Visual Paradigm Desktop

Visual Paradigm Desktop has officially introduced AI-powered features, bringing intelligent assistance directly into your modelling and design environment. With this enhancement, users can now generate diagrams with the support of AI making the platform smarter and more efficient than ever before.

To take advantage of these new capabilities, users need to ensure they are running the latest version of Visual Paradigm Desktop and have access to the AI service via Visual Paradigm Online. Once enabled, the AI features integrate seamlessly into your Visual Paradigm Desktop, ready to assist with modelling.

This article will walk you through the essential requirements for using it, and the steps you need to follow to activate and start benefiting from these features in your daily work.

In order to access to the AI features in Visual Paradigm Desktop:

  1. Visual Paradigm Desktop must be connected to Visual Paradigm Online.
  2. The project Visual Paradigm Desktop opening must be hosted in Visual Paradigm Online.

Connect Visual Paradigm Desktop to Visual Paradigm Online

If you already got an Visual Paradigm Online workspace

  1. Go to Team > Select Repository.
  2. Select Existing Registered User.
  3. Enter the ID of your workspace and press Next. (How to find out your workspace ID?)
  4. Enter your login ID and password to login to your workspace.

If you didn’t have Visual Paradigm Online workspace yet

  1. Go to Team > Select Repository.
  2. Press Sign up button under Sign up for VP Online.
  3. Enter your Email address, Password and specify your Workspace ID.
  4. Read through and agree the Terms of Services and Privacy Policy.
  5. Press Sign up button to sign up your Visual Paradigm Online workspace.
  6. An activation email will be sent to your mail box. Click the link in the email to activate your account.

Having your project hosted by Visual Paradigm Online

In order to use the AI features (except AI Diagram generator) the project you currently opening must be hosted by your Visual Paradigm Online workspace.

If your existing project already hosted by your Visual Paradigm Online workspace

  1. Go to Project > Open > Visual Paradigm Online.
  2. Select your project and press Open button to open it.

If your existing project not yet hosted by your Visual Paradigm Online workspace

  1. Go to Project > Save > Save as.
  2. Select Visual Paradigm Online.
  3. Specify a different name for the team collaboration project (optional).
  4. Press Add Member button to assign other members to this project.
  5. Press the Import button to import your project into your Visual Paradigm Online workspace.
  6. Visual Paradigm will then import your project into your Visual Paradigm workspace, and then re-checkout the project as a local copy.
